Omega-6s

BASF offers omega-6 fatty acids for livestock feed and pet food. Omega-6 fatty acids (“omega-6s”) are emerging feed additives used to improve energy supply and health of the animals.

Why are Omega-6s so Important?

Omega-6 fatty acids are natural nutrients found in plants and are essential to life. They are not formed by the animal organism and must therefore be administered in the feed. If the diet does not contain sufficient quantities of omega-6 fatty acids, this will have adverse effects on the animal’s performance, fertility, well-being, and health.

Lutrell® Pure

Lutrell Pure is a rumen-protected formulation of omega-6 fatty acids. BASF recommends the use in feed for dairy cows. It is suitable for all types of vitamin blends, premixes, mineral and mixed feeds.

Lutalin®

Lutalin is BASF’s liquid omega-6 product for fattening pigs and dogs.
